Huxian Peasant Paintings originated in
the late 50s. Jinshan county style originated in the late 70s. Both styles
show the ordinary aspects of rural life. The paintings explore all parts of
daily life. Festivals, parades, harvest, weddings, village traditions, farm
animals, and children are all depicted in their paintings. The style can be
described as primitive, with child-like figures and bright colors which are
often exaggerated.
